Paul Eenhoorn and Earl Lynn Nelson &#; getting in contact with nature in Iceland

&#;Land Ho!&#; &#; one of the truest films ever made about male bonding &#; is a quirky buddy road trip flick that contains not one moment that isn&#;t completely believeable.

Aaron Katz and Martha Stephens&#; minimalist attempt is in the style of Kelly Reichardt (whose &#;Old Joy&#; would be the perfect other half of a double feature bill). It relies totally on character rather than cute situations.

It&#;s often funny, but also a bit sad.

It is going to frustrate those with short attention spans. Its cast members are unknowns and aside from a couple of old guys visiting tourist attractions in Iceland, not all that much happens. Or so it may appear&#;stick with it and spot a sneakily successful film about aging and friendship.

If it feels a bit like a CW version of an after-school particular, that's no mistake: Teen-tv super-producer Greg Berlanti makes his feature-film directorial debut here. It's as chaste a love story as you're likely to view in the 21st century—the hunky gardener who makes the title teen ask his sexuality is wearing a long-sleeved shirt, for God’s sake—but you grasp what? This idea of hiding one’s identity might look like a distant memory to today’s self-actualised youth. Still, we purposefully depart behind our forebears to carry their trauma alone. “Their sadness and shame” are the story Yeung wants to tell. He says, “We wouldn’t be where we are today without what th
